Liberal Democrat Councillor for Stansted North on Uttlesford District Council and former Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group Learn more

The Chief Constable of Essex, Jim Barker-McCardle, has so far failed to respond to my request to increase the role of police community support officers (PCSO).
I wrote to Mr McCardle by email on January 29th and again on February 10th asking that PCSOs be allowed to book people who park illegally in Stansted. I think they should double up with parking wardens and not just stand idly by. I posted this account on my blog.
Parish council chairman and felllow district councillor, Geoffrey Sell agrees with me. We think that Essex Police should show they are accountable to local residents by responding more promptly to their elected representatives. Geoffrey and I are writing to Mr McCardle again this weekend.
