Liberal Democrat Councillor for Stansted North on Uttlesford District Council and former Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group Learn more

Opposition Members of the Council have risked growing weary over Uttlesford’s dysfunctional council.
Questions they raised six months ago about the Stansted Airport appeal remain unanswered by the Residents for Uttlesford (R4U) Administration. Attempts to hold a Vote of No Confidence in the Leader and Cabinet have been obstructed for weeks on end. Now that a meeting has at last been convened on June 28th, the establishment will try to hold it behind closed doors
OUT OF SIGHT OF PRESS AND PUBLIC.
In utter frustration, the thirteen councillors who called for the meeting have today written to the Chief Executive and the Legal/Monitoring Officer to challenge this secrecy and to ask for a detailed explanation to justify keeping the public and media in the dark.
What has R4U to hide? Shame over the continuing police investigation? Embarrassment that they can’t get the accounts audit completed? What else are they covering up?
