I am against a CCTV camera being installed on the recreation ground in Stansted. My reasons are:

1. no need has been demonstrated
2. installing a CCTV camera would be a disproportionate way of dealing with occasional minor nuisance
3. the council is not compliant with the new, national Surveillance Camera Code of Practice http://bit.ly/15y89gE

On Wednesday evening 11th September Stansted Parish Council decided that the existing location for the camera pole is unsafe to users of the recreation ground. As the PC owns the rec, UDC will have to withdraw the planning application and go back to the drawing board.
