Planning application should be refused again.

by Alan Dean on 10 July, 2012

Comments on the revised Bellway Homes planning application close on Thursday, July 12th. Have you commented via this link?

I shall be saying:
1. The last application was refused to prevent loss of employment land. This application has not addressed that objection.
2. Loss of this employment land will undermine the commercial viability of the business and retail centre of Stansted Mountfitchet. This would be contrary to council policy to enhance town centres.
3. Stansted is a growing community with 700 homes occupied or due for occupation at Forest Hall Park. The centre needs more land for shops, local services, and employment, not less.
4. The last application was also refused because the proposed housing development was considered to be over-development of the land. The new application has made no changes that address this reason for refusal.
5. This application should be recommended by officers for refusal and the planning committee should refuse it to remain consistent.
